  • Field of Research:

    Immunology

  • Relevance:

Monokine with inflammatory and chemokinetic properties. Binds to CCR5. One of the major HIV-suppressive factors produced by CD8+ T-cells. Recombinant MIP-1-beta induces a dose-dependent inhibition of different strains of HIV-1, HIV-2, and simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) . The processed form MIP-1-beta (3-69) retains the abilities to induce down-modulation of surface expression of the chemokine receptor CCR5 and to inhibit the CCR5-mediated entry of HIV-1 in T-cells. MIP-1-beta (3-69) is also a ligand for CCR1 and CCR2 isoform B. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:10540332, ECO:0000269|PubMed:12070155, ECO:0000269|PubMed:8525373}.

    Yes

  • Bioactivity:

Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The biological activity determined by a chemotaxis bioassay using human peripheral blood monocytes is in a concentration range of 5.0-20 ng/ml.

  • Form:

    Lyophilized powder

  • Buffer:

Lyophilized from a 0.2 µm filtered PBS, pH 7.4

  • Reconstitution:

We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
